Jio Platforms made its stock market debut on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on October 28, 2026, with shares opening at ₹1,358 apiece. The listing price represented a 21.3% premium over the issue price of ₹1,119, marking a strong debut for one of India's major digital services businesses.

The company reportedly raised ₹30,213 crore through its public issue. At the listing price, Jio Platforms had a market capitalisation of approximately ₹12.5 lakh crore. The shares subsequently gained further ground, closing at ₹1,419, around 4.5% above the listing price. Its reported market capitalisation at the close stood at approximately ₹13.1 lakh crore.

At the listing ceremony, Jio Platforms managing director Akash Ambani emphasised the company's ambition to make technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital services more accessible.

The event was attended by Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Retail managing director Isha Ambani, Anant Ambani, Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani and National Stock Exchange managing director and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan.

Jio's technology ambitions come as businesses and consumers increasingly adopt AI-powered tools, cloud infrastructure and digital platforms. Making these services more widely accessible could be an important part of the company's growth strategy, although execution and competition will remain key considerations.

Jio's reported market capitalisation at the end of its first trading session was higher than the approximately ₹12.2 lakh crore market value cited for rival Bharti Airtel in the supplied report.

The strong listing reflects investor demand at the time of the debut, but a premium opening does not guarantee future share-price gains. Investors will need to monitor revenue growth, profitability, capital expenditure, competition and the company's ability to turn its technology investments into sustainable earnings.
