Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 crore initial public offering (IPO) attracted strong investor demand on its first day of bidding on October 21, 2026. The issue was fully subscribed within the first 100 minutes, with qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) leading the response.

The offering received bids for 20.03 crore shares against approximately 19.75 crore shares on offer, according to the reported subscription figures. The QIB category received the strongest demand, while retail investors, non-institutional investors and eligible employees recorded comparatively lower subscription levels during the initial period.

The IPO has a price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. Market interest has also been reflected in the reported grey market premium (GMP), although this unofficial indicator does not guarantee listing gains or future share performance.

Several brokerages have recommended subscribing to the issue for the long term, citing Jio’s position in India's digital connectivity market, subscriber growth, expanding broadband services and opportunities in 5G and digital offerings. Potential improvements in average revenue per user (ARPU) and operating margins are also seen as possible growth drivers.

However, investors should consider risks, including high capital expenditure, intense competition, regulatory changes and execution challenges. Valuation is another important factor when assessing the company's long-term prospects.

At the upper end of the price band, Jio Platforms is expected to command a substantial market valuation, placing it among India's largest listed companies if the offering proceeds as reported. Investors should review the official offer documents and consider their financial goals and risk tolerance before making an investment decision.
