A free health and medical camp in Anantapur provided healthcare services to nearly 600 students and young people as part of the foundation day celebrations of Nigama Foundation.
The camp was organised at Government Polytechnic College, Anantapur, with the theme “Healthy Youth, Healthy Nation”. It aimed to provide basic health screenings and medical consultations to students and youth who attended the programme.
Participants received free blood-grouping services along with haemoglobin and diabetes screening. The camp also included blood-pressure checks, general medical consultations, orthopaedic consultations and eye examinations.
The initiative was organised by Nigama Foundation in coordination with the National Service Scheme (NSS), Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA), Government Polytechnic College, Anantapur, Pragathi Padham Youth Association and MY Bharat under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The health camp was part of the foundation day activities and focused on encouraging young people to pay greater attention to preventive health and regular medical checks.
With students and youth forming the primary group of beneficiaries, the programme brought multiple basic screening services together at a single location. Such camps can also help participants identify health concerns that may require further medical evaluation.
The initiative reflects a community-focused approach to improving access to basic health screening among young people in the region.
