Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the airport as a “major gift” to Uttar Pradesh, noting that it is set to become the largest aviation hub in India. He said the Council of Ministers was “grateful to the respected Prime Minister” for his visionary leadership in transforming connectivity and infrastructure across the state.

Adityanath highlighted that under Modi’s guidance, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a model of world‑class infrastructure. The state has seen the construction of 42 national highways spanning 2,483 km at a cost of nearly ₹60,000 crore. Landmark projects such as the Delhi‑Saharanpur‑Dehradun Expressway, Delhi‑Meerut Expressway, and Kanpur‑Lucknow Expressway have already been completed, strengthening regional and national connectivity.

The renaming of Jewar Airport is seen as both a symbolic and practical move, aligning the state’s flagship aviation project with the Prime Minister’s broader vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and global competitiveness. With Jewar poised to handle millions of passengers annually, the decision underscores Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to position itself as a gateway to India’s future growth.
