India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will lead the Indian delegation at the 13th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) in Cebu, Philippines, from October 28 to 29, 2026. The meeting is expected to focus on regional security, international challenges and defence cooperation among participating countries.
According to India’s Defence Ministry, Singh is scheduled to address the forum on regional and international security issues. His participation reflects India’s continued engagement with Southeast Asian countries and other partners on defence and strategic matters.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Singh is expected to hold bilateral discussions with defence ministers from participating nations. These talks will review existing defence cooperation and explore opportunities to strengthen strategic partnerships.
The ADMM-Plus brings together ASEAN member states and partner countries to discuss shared security concerns and promote practical cooperation in defence. The forum provides an opportunity for participating nations to exchange views, build trust and address emerging regional challenges through dialogue.
India’s participation offers a platform to discuss defence ties and regional stability with key partners in the Indo-Pacific. Bilateral meetings could also help identify areas for deeper cooperation, depending on the priorities agreed upon by the participating countries.
The Cebu meeting comes as regional and international security issues remain important topics for governments across the Indo-Pacific. Discussions among defence leaders are expected to cover matters relevant to regional peace, cooperation and strategic engagement.
Further details of Singh’s address and the outcomes of his bilateral discussions are expected as the meeting progresses.
