The investigation into the October 18 firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai has revealed an alleged network involving weapon transportation, surveillance and a planned escape route through Gujarat.
According to the investigation, the suspects allegedly tracked the actor’s movements for nearly a month before the attack. Investigators are also examining an earlier attempt to deliver a weapon involving two women, which has added another dimension to the case.
Authorities suspect that the firearm used in the incident was transported from Punjab to Mumbai as part of a coordinated operation. Investigators are also examining the role of a US-based handler and the alleged involvement of Anil Pandit, who is suspected of being the mastermind behind the operation.
Three suspects allegedly involved in carrying out the firing were arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan on October 19, a day after the incident. Their arrest provided investigators with important leads regarding the suspected escape plan.
On October 20, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four additional individuals over their alleged roles in procuring and transporting the firearm and coordinating with the suspected mastermind.
The investigation is focusing on communication records, the movement of weapons and the connections between those allegedly involved in planning the attack. A phone call reportedly helped investigators uncover details of the suspected escape route.
The case has raised concerns about organised criminal networks, cross-state weapon transportation and the coordination required to carry out such attacks. Investigators are continuing to establish the roles of the suspects and determine the full extent of the alleged conspiracy.
