AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has alleged that a bulk submission of pre‑filled Form 7 applications seeking deletion of voter names in the Goshamahal Assembly constituency was part of a deliberate attempt to target the minority community.

Form 7 is used to request removal of names from electoral rolls. Owaisi claimed that 122 such applications were submitted at Booth 28 in Goshamahal, raising suspicions of coordinated profiling. He demanded an inquiry and strict action against the individual responsible for filing the forms in bulk.

“This is not an isolated incident. It appears to be a deliberate exercise aimed at deleting Muslim voters from the rolls,” Owaisi said, linking the move to the BJP’s political strategy in Hyderabad.

The allegations come amid heightened scrutiny of voter roll revisions across India, with opposition parties accusing authorities of bias and irregularities. Owaisi’s remarks add to the growing debate on electoral transparency and the protection of minority voting rights.

The Election Commission has yet to issue a formal response, but the controversy underscores the political sensitivity surrounding voter deletions ahead of upcoming polls.
