The National Stock Exchange (NSE) reported a 23% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹2,577 crore for the quarter ended September 2026. However, profit declined 17.4% compared with the preceding quarter, according to its latest financial results.
The results mark NSE's first quarterly earnings announcement since its market debut.
Higher trading activity supported the year-on-year improvement in profitability. Average daily traded volume (ADTV) in the cash market increased 24% year-on-year to ₹1,18,377 crore during the second quarter of FY27.
For the first half of FY27, NSE's consolidated total income rose 9% year-on-year to ₹9,807 crore, reflecting growth over the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The quarterly figures show contrasting trends, with the exchange reporting stronger profit compared with the same period last year but a decline from the previous quarter. The increase in cash-market trading volumes also highlights the role of market activity in supporting its financial performance.
NSE has also expanded its product portfolio after securing regulatory approvals and introducing derivatives on the Nifty India FPI 150 Index and Corporate Bond Index Futures.
The latest results provide an update on the exchange's financial performance as it continues to broaden its market offerings.
