Television actor Niti Taylor has opened up about an alleged casting couch experience that influenced her decision to stop pursuing films after appearing in three Telugu movies. In a conversation with Hauterrfly, the actor recalled how a director she had previously worked with allegedly made a sexual demand in exchange for another film opportunity.
Niti said the director of her first Telugu film contacted her after they had completed the project and approached her about working together again. However, the conversation took an unexpected turn when he allegedly told her, “You will have to sleep with me for it this time.”
The actor recalled being shocked and unsure how to respond. She said she ended the call, blocked the director's number and immediately spoke to her mother about what had happened.
Niti also said she had previously seen the director around other female actors but had not expected him to make such a proposition to her. The incident left her shaken, and she decided not to pursue further film projects. She explained that she did not speak publicly about the experience at the time because she was too stunned by what had happened.
Niti made her Telugu film debut with Mem Vayasuku Vacham in 2012. She subsequently appeared in Pelli Pustakam in 2013 and Love Dot Com in 2014. She did not return to films after these three projects, although she continued building her career in television.
The actor gained wider recognition through the television series Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan and later appeared in shows including Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2. She has also participated in reality television, including the show Alliance.
Niti's account has renewed discussion about the casting couch and the pressure aspiring actors may face when seeking professional opportunities in the entertainment industry. She did not publicly identify the director in her interview, and the allegation should be understood as her account of the incident.
