Speaking at the inauguration of the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 in New Delhi on November 2, Modi said the crisis could have affected India more severely if the country had not developed its clean energy infrastructure and supporting mechanisms.

He highlighted the importance of investments in renewable energy, saying they had helped India manage global disruptions more effectively.

Modi also stated that India's economy continued to grow despite the challenges created by the crisis.

The Prime Minister warned that excessive dependence on fossil fuels could leave countries more vulnerable to international conflicts and disruptions in global energy markets. He emphasised the need to strengthen alternative energy sources to improve long-term energy security.

India's renewable energy expansion has become an important part of its strategy to diversify energy sources and reduce dependence on conventional fuels.

The remarks at the summit highlighted the government's focus on clean energy as both an environmental priority and a way to strengthen the country's economic resilience against global uncertainties.
