According to the minutes of a meeting held on October 19, 2026, the agreement included decisions on withdrawing first information reports (FIRs) against students, reviewing the Chief Proctor’s Office (CPO) manual and withdrawing certain proctorial inquiries. The minutes were signed by Vivek Kumar, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, and student representatives.

In a notice dated October 19, the university stated that Vice-Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit had directed the administration to revoke the rustication of five students with immediate effect.

The hunger strike was part of a wider protest over student demands involving rights, social justice, hostel facilities and the condition of university infrastructure. The agreement also included plans to constitute committees to examine various issues raised by the students.

The end of the protest marks a development in the negotiations between JNUSU and the university administration. The recorded decisions cover disciplinary action, student grievances and administrative procedures on campus.

Further implementation of the agreed measures, including the handling of FIRs and proctorial inquiries, will be important in determining how the remaining demands are addressed.
