The programme, conducted annually from October to March, focuses on modern management principles and global business practices. Its curriculum covers corporate finance, marketing, business analytics, economics, entrepreneurship, business law, supply chain management, information systems and financial decision-making, among other areas.

The programme also includes subjects such as accounting, human resource management, organisational behaviour, strategy, operations and decision sciences.

According to IIM Ahmedabad, the course combines the officers’ existing experience in leadership, operations, human resource management, project management, infrastructure and organisational strategy with formal management education.

A key feature of the programme is the institute’s case-study-based teaching approach. Participants examine real-world business situations from different industries and organisations to strengthen their analytical and managerial capabilities.

Officers will also receive industry exposure through corporate interactions, expert sessions and industry visits. The programme is intended to help participants develop an enterprise-wide perspective and understand the working environment of the corporate sector.

The Armed Forces Programme is aimed at supporting officers during their professional transition after their military careers, equipping them with skills that can be applied to management and leadership roles in the private sector.
