Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has entered India’s biosimilar immuno-oncology market with the launch of Nivorz, a biosimilar of nivolumab, the company announced on Tuesday.
Nivorz is a biosimilar version of Opdivo (nivolumab), an immunotherapy used in cancer treatment. The launch marks Dr Reddy’s entry into the biosimilar immuno-oncology therapy segment in India.
The company said Nivorz was developed and manufactured entirely in-house at its biologics facility in Bachupally, Hyderabad. According to Dr Reddy’s, the product demonstrates its capabilities across the biosimilar value chain, covering development, manufacturing and commercialisation.
India’s immuno-oncology market
India’s immuno-oncology market was estimated at around ₹3,900 crore in 2025, with the segment predominantly driven by checkpoint inhibitors.
Key therapies in this category include nivolumab, pembrolizumab and toripalimab, which work by helping the immune system recognise and attack cancer cells.
The growing presence of biosimilars could expand treatment options in a market where advanced cancer therapies can involve substantial costs. Dr Reddy’s entry adds another domestic manufacturer to India’s evolving biologics and biosimilars landscape.
With Nivorz, the company is focusing on strengthening its presence in oncology while leveraging its in-house biologics development and manufacturing capabilities.
The launch also highlights the increasing role of Indian pharmaceutical companies in developing and commercialising complex biologic therapies for the domestic market.
