The party, along with the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the All India Students’ Federation (AISF), has urged citizens to organise peaceful demonstrations across the country. The announcement comes amid growing tensions following police action against protesters in New Delhi.

Addressing a joint press conference at the Press Club of India, CJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka said the movement had entered a new phase. He criticised the authorities’ handling of the demonstrations and questioned the treatment of party leaders by the police.

CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka alleged that police personnel had “kidnapped” them from an aircraft after they arrived in Delhi on Saturday. They further claimed that they were not allowed to speak to their lawyers after being detained.

The allegations have added to the political controversy surrounding the protests, which demand the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. The party has maintained that its campaign will continue until its demands are addressed.

During the press conference, Ranka also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the authorities’ response to the demonstrations, saying the situation had been treated like a war.

The CJP and the student organisations have called for peaceful public participation, signalling their intention to expand the agitation beyond the national capital.

The latest developments highlight escalating tensions between the protesting groups and authorities. Further demonstrations are expected as the organisations continue to press for accountability and demand action against the Chief Election Commissioner.
