The student had boarded the Vivek Express at Visakhapatnam and reportedly argued with several men in her compartment. Shortly after, her body was discovered near Boddepalli, between Amadalavalasa and Ponduru stations.

While the railway police suspect she may have fallen from the running train, her family has alleged murder, demanding justice and accountability. Responding to the gravity of the case, Srikakulam Superintendent of Police K.V. Maheswar Reddy has formed special investigation teams along with the Government Railway Police (GRP) to trace the men she had confronted.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from Vizianagaram and other stations to piece together her final movements. The incident has sparked outrage, raising urgent questions about women’s safety in public transport and the responsibility of railway authorities to protect passengers.

The case highlights the vulnerability of young women traveling alone and has intensified calls for stricter monitoring of train coaches, especially during night journeys.
