Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has transferred ₹493 crore in financial assistance to more than 9.18 lakh farmers affected by floods, excessive rainfall, hailstorms and cyclones across the state. The relief amount was transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts on Monday, October 13, 2026.
Speaking in Gorakhpur, Adityanath said the state government had arranged compensation within eight to 10 days to support farmers whose crops, homes and livestock suffered damage due to adverse weather conditions.
According to the Chief Minister, a total of ₹493 crore has been transferred to 9,18,091 farmers to help them recover from agricultural losses. He also said that approximately ₹1,000 crore had already been provided to disaster-affected farmers and citizens during the monsoon season this year.
The government is offering separate assistance to families whose houses have been damaged by floods, cyclones and excessive rainfall. Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, eligible families whose homes have been damaged are being provided additional assistance of ₹1.20 lakh, which is separate from the crop damage compensation.
Adityanath said officials had been instructed to arrange immediate housing support for families whose homes had been completely destroyed or washed away. Compensation is also being provided, according to applicable rules, to those whose houses have suffered partial damage.
The state government has additionally made provisions to assist families affected by livestock losses. In cases involving loss of human life, officials have been directed to provide ₹4 lakh in compensation to the affected family within 24 hours.
The latest financial assistance aims to ease the burden on farming families and help communities recover from weather-related damage across Uttar Pradesh.
