Actor Vijay Deverakonda has spoken out against online criticism of his upcoming Telugu film Ranabaali, alleging that much of the negativity directed at him and the film is manufactured. His remarks came during a press interaction in Hyderabad ahead of the film’s trailer launch.

Addressing social media posts claiming audiences would prefer Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 over Ranabaali, Vijay questioned the repeated nature of such comments. He claimed that around 90% of the online hate was manufactured and alleged that some people were being paid to promote negative narratives. These claims have not been independently verified.

The actor also said he would not change his personality or ambitions to satisfy online critics. He argued that confidence and honesty should not automatically be interpreted as arrogance and urged people to focus on personal growth rather than pulling others down on social media.

Vijay further suggested that artificial intelligence could eventually replace people involved in coordinated online attacks. He called for social platforms to be used to promote positive ideas instead of spreading negativity.

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna and is scheduled to release on October 16, 2026. Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 15, setting up a closely timed release clash.
