Scientists Identify Promising Compound Against Brain-Eating Amoeba in Lab Tests
Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, have identified a marine-bacteria-derived compound that killed Naegleria fowleri in laboratory tests. The compound appeared to affect the amoeba while largely sparing human cells, but further research is needed to establish its safety and effectiveness.
