Apple has introduced a new iPad mini featuring an OLED display, an upgraded processor and a redesigned body. Announced on October 26, 2026, the tablet brings improvements aimed at reading, gaming, entertainment and everyday productivity.
The new iPad mini features an 8.5-inch OLED display and Apple's A20 Pro chip. It also has a thinner and lighter design, an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, faster wireless connectivity and an upgraded front camera.
Apple has also introduced new artificial intelligence capabilities, although the specific features and their availability should be checked against the company's official product specifications.
In India, the Wi-Fi model starts at ₹82,900, while the Wi-Fi + Cellular variant is priced from ₹1,00,900. Eligible customers can receive education savings, bringing the starting price down to ₹76,900, according to the launch report.
Pre-orders are scheduled to open on October 28 through Apple's website and the Apple Store app. Deliveries and retail availability are expected to begin on November 6.
The tablet will be available in Midnight and Starlight finishes, with storage options of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. These configurations give customers options depending on their storage requirements and intended use.
The OLED display could improve contrast and colour reproduction, while the updated processor is intended to support demanding applications and multitasking. The compact form factor may appeal to users looking for a portable device for reading, gaming, video streaming and work on the move.
With its higher starting price, the new iPad mini enters the premium compact-tablet segment. Buyers should compare its specifications, storage options and connectivity features before deciding whether the upgrade suits their needs.
