American actress Selma Blair, known for films such as Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions, was arrested following an alleged altercation aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York City, according to reports published on October 13, 2026.
Authorities said the incident occurred before the aircraft landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport late Sunday. Reports alleged that Blair assaulted two cabin crew members, with one reportedly punched and another bitten. She was detained after the plane arrived.
According to the report, Blair was also accused of assaulting a police officer and a nurse while being transported to a hospital. She was taken for medical evaluation, along with one of the injured cabin crew members.
A representative for the actress said Blair had experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. The representative added that she received immediate medical attention after landing and was in stable condition.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation reportedly issued a summons accusing Blair of assaults aboard the aircraft, according to a federal judicial source cited in the report. Delta Air Lines reiterated that it does not tolerate unruly or unlawful behaviour and prioritises the safety of passengers and crew.
The incident has renewed attention on an earlier episode involving Blair, who was removed from a flight on a stretcher in 2016. She later said that mixing alcohol with medication had caused her to black out and behave in ways she regretted.
Blair also discussed past experiences involving alcohol in her 2022 memoir. The latest allegations remain subject to legal proceedings, and the reported medical emergency has been cited by her representative as relevant context.
