Actor Satendra Soni, known for his appearance in Laapataa Ladies, has drawn attention on social media after sharing videos alleging threats and non-payment of dues during the shooting of an upcoming film.
In one video, Soni said he had travelled for the shoot of Ped Palki, directed by Pushpendra Singh. According to the actor, he received a Rs 50,000 signing amount and was told that the remaining payment would be made after completing the shoot.
Soni claimed that after eight days of filming, he raised the issue of his pending payment and was asked to leave the shoot and hotel. He further alleged that he had received a death threat.
In a subsequent video, Soni said he, along with actors Shridhar Dubey and Pankaj Sharma, had safely returned to Mumbai. He thanked the Maihar police for their assistance and acknowledged several people who supported them during the episode.
The actor also described the experience as mentally distressing and thanked fellow artists and others for their support.
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has backed Soni and urged authorities to register an FIR against the film’s makers. The association said the allegations raise concerns about the treatment of artists and workers in the film industry.
The allegations remain claims made by Soni, and further investigation or responses from the filmmakers would be needed to establish the circumstances surrounding the dispute.
