Actor Ranbir Kapoor has apologised for a slip of the tongue during a Dussehra event in West Bengal, addressing the incident at the music and full-album launch of his upcoming film Ramayana in Chennai on October 21, 2026.
The actor acknowledged the mistake while speaking at the Chennai event, a major promotional gathering for the film. His apology followed remarks he had made while addressing an audience in Kolkata on October 20.
During his speech in Chennai, Ranbir also recalled working with music composer AR Rahman on the film Rockstar. Referring to a line from one of the film’s songs, he explained that he sometimes struggles to express himself correctly.
His comments brought attention back to the earlier Dussehra speech, which prompted him to clarify what he had intended to say. By acknowledging the error publicly, the actor addressed the incident during an event connected to one of his upcoming film projects.
The Chennai gathering centred on the music of Ramayana, which features Ranbir in a leading role. The event brought together the film’s promotional activities and discussions around its music.
The incident highlights how remarks made at public appearances can quickly become a talking point, particularly when they involve prominent film personalities and major releases.
