OpenAI has begun rolling out GPT-6 globally in ChatGPT, introducing a new “Intelligent UI” that allows responses to combine text, visuals and interactive elements. The update is designed to make information easier to explore and tasks easier to complete within a conversation.
With Intelligent UI, ChatGPT can automatically choose how to present an answer based on the question. Responses can include charts, graphics, forms, tappable buttons, diagrams and interactive experiences. Users can also ask ChatGPT to create tools such as calculators, bill splitters and simple games directly within a conversation.
The system can still provide a conventional text response when that is the most suitable format. OpenAI says it has trained GPT-6 to make decisions about the layout, content and level of interactivity while progressively displaying interfaces as they are generated.
GPT-6 also changes how ChatGPT handles longer reasoning and tool-based tasks. The model can begin answering while it continues to think or use tools, allowing users to start reading before the complete response is finished. OpenAI says GPT-6 Instant starts answering web-search questions 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant in its internal evaluation.
The rollout began on October 7 for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, while Free and Go users are scheduled to receive GPT-6 from October 8. Paid tiers use GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go use GPT-6 Luna. Enterprise availability can depend on workspace settings.
