Singer Kanika Kapoor has announced her separation from husband Gautam Hathiramani after four years of marriage, asking for privacy as they move forward separately.
The singer shared the news through an Instagram Story on November 3, saying the decision followed considerable thought and consideration. She expressed gratitude for the time they spent together and wished Hathiramani well for the future, while requesting kindness and respect for their privacy.
Kanika and Gautam married in London on May 20, 2022, after knowing each other for nearly 15 years. The singer had previously spoken about their long friendship and how their relationship eventually developed into romance. Their wedding was attended by close friends and family, with Kanika’s three children from her first marriage also taking part in the celebrations.
Before marrying Gautam, Kanika was married to businessman Raj Chandok. The couple had three children together — daughters Aayana and Samara, and son Yuvraaj — before separating in 2012. Following the split, Kanika returned to India to pursue her music career.
Kanika rose to wider recognition with Baby Doll from the 2014 film Ragini MMS 2. Her other popular tracks include Lovely, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, Desi Look and Da Da Dasse.
The singer has not publicly disclosed the reason for her separation from Gautam in the announcement, and she has asked the public to respect their privacy.
