Lyca Productions has officially revived Indian 3, bringing the Kamal Haasan and Shankar franchise back into focus after nearly two years of uncertainty.
The production house announced the development on Thursday by unveiling new posters featuring Kamal Haasan as Senapathy. The announcement carries the tagline “War Mode” and signals that the long-delayed third instalment is moving forward.
Along with the posters, the makers shared the message: “Senapathy is back with zero tolerance. The resurgence begins.”
The revival comes after considerable uncertainty surrounding the project following the release of Indian 2 in 2024. The sequel underperformed at the box office and reportedly resulted in heavy financial losses for Lyca Productions, raising questions over whether the franchise would continue with a third film.
Indian 3 had remained the subject of speculation for months, with its future unclear amid the commercial setback of its predecessor. The latest announcement from Lyca Productions now indicates that the makers intend to continue the story of Senapathy.
Kamal Haasan is set to return as the vigilante character, while Shankar remains associated with the franchise. The new “War Mode” posters have also renewed interest among fans of the long-running Indian series.
With the project now officially revived, further details about its production and release plans are expected as the makers move ahead with the third instalment.
