Speaking on Thursday, Kapur stated that face-offs had occurred at several locations in recent days and that the situation was continuing. His remarks highlight the ongoing challenges faced by Indian security forces along the sensitive border with China.

The Army and the ITBP are deployed along the frontier, with long-range patrols regularly sent to forward areas. In Arunachal Pradesh, weather conditions influence the timing of these patrols, which are generally conducted between June and October.

Kapur also highlighted the growing importance of modern technology in border security and future warfare. He warned that drones are becoming a crucial component of military operations and that India cannot rely exclusively on traditional weapons when preparing for potential challenges from China.

The ITBP chief also stressed the importance of underground shelters as part of the changing approach to border warfare. Such infrastructure is becoming a priority as security forces adapt to evolving operational requirements and difficult conditions in forward areas.

The remarks underline the need for India to strengthen its border infrastructure, surveillance capabilities and technological preparedness while maintaining a presence in strategically important regions.

The continuing face-offs in Arunachal Pradesh also draw attention to the broader security challenges along the India-China border. While Kapur confirmed confrontations at multiple locations, the information provided did not specify the exact sites or disclose further details about the incidents.

India’s border strategy increasingly involves combining personnel, modern surveillance systems and improved protective infrastructure to respond to changing security conditions.
