Google’s next Fitbit fitness tracker may be called the Fitbit Edge, according to leaked retail materials that have surfaced online. The wearable follows an accidental marketing leak in August and an FCC listing from September, but Google has not officially announced the device or confirmed its specifications.
Leaked images show a tracker with a rounded display that extends close to the edges of the device. The design appears to combine elements of Fitbit’s fitness bands with the visual language of the Pixel Watch. The screen reportedly displays information such as the time, date, heart rate and step count.
A leaked comparison table lists Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone notifications and compatibility with both Android and iOS. It also mentions support for Google Maps, media and music controls, and Find My Phone. Battery life is reportedly rated at up to seven days.
Other reported features include built-in GPS, an altimeter and automatic activity recognition. The rear sensor arrangement appears similar to the Fitbit Air, while metal strips on the sides of the device could be used for ECG readings, although these details remain based on leaked material rather than official specifications.
The Fitbit Edge could sit between the screenless Fitbit Air and Google’s full-featured Pixel Watch range, offering more on-device functionality while retaining the longer battery life associated with fitness trackers. A reported price range of $149 to $199 and an October launch have been suggested by leak sources, but neither has been confirmed by Google.
