Google appears to be working on a redesigned settings page for its Android app, with a cleaner card-based layout that could make frequently used controls easier to find. The redesign was discovered in Google app version 17.64.13 and has not yet been released publicly.
The current Google app settings page primarily uses a list-based structure, with several options placed inside separate menus. The new design could instead group related controls into individual cards, creating clearer sections for different types of settings.
Among the categories spotted in the test interface are areas such as “Your App Experience” and “Privacy & Safety”. The redesign could also bring some options that are currently buried within submenus directly onto the main settings screen.
Search personalization, SafeSearch and “Results about you” are among the controls reportedly being given more prominent placement. At present, these settings are located inside the privacy and safety section, meaning users need additional steps to access them.
The interface also appears to follow elements of Google’s Material 3 Expressive design approach, giving the settings page a more visual and structured appearance.
However, the redesign remains a work in progress. The new interface was identified through an APK teardown, which can reveal features being developed but does not guarantee that they will reach a stable release. Google has not announced a launch date for the redesigned settings page.
For now, Google app users will need to continue using the existing settings interface until the company officially rolls out any changes.
