India’s para-athletes have crossed the 100-medal mark at the Asian Para Games 2026 in Nagoya, Japan, delivering an impressive performance across multiple sporting events. As of Friday, October 23, India’s tally stood at 100 medals: 25 gold, 32 silver and 43 bronze, with further results potentially adding to the total before the Games conclude.
The competition began on October 18 and is scheduled to finish on October 24. China has dominated the medal standings, collecting approximately 323 medals by Friday, while Indian athletes have continued to make their mark across different disciplines.
India’s growing medal tally highlights the determination, talent and competitive spirit of its para-athletes. Their performances have brought recognition to the country and underlined the importance of supporting athletes with disabilities through training, facilities and opportunities to compete internationally.
The achievement also provides an important benchmark for India’s performance in the continental para-sports competition. At the 2023 Asian Para Games, India finished fifth overall with 111 medals, comprising 29 gold, 31 silver and 51 bronze.
With the 2026 edition approaching its conclusion, India has an opportunity to improve its medal count further and potentially surpass its previous overall tally. Every additional medal could strengthen the country’s position in the standings.
The performances in Nagoya offer another encouraging chapter for Indian para-sports, showcasing athletes who continue to push boundaries and represent the country on the international stage.
