Social media influencer and actress Anjali Arora is facing a dispute with organisers of the Nagada Nights Dandiya event held in Kanpur on October 15, 2026. The organisers have reportedly issued her a ₹1.20 crore legal notice and approached the police over allegations linked to her performance at the event.
According to the organisers, Arora performed for approximately 12 minutes instead of the agreed 45 minutes. They claim she was paid ₹2.75 lakh out of the agreed fee of ₹3 lakh and allege that the shortened appearance caused financial losses and reputational damage. They have also sought the registration of a First Information Report (FIR).
Arora has defended her decision to leave early, citing serious safety concerns and alleged mismanagement. She claimed that unfamiliar men and a waiter entered her hotel room and that people repeatedly harassed her outside her door. These allegations form part of her explanation for the incident.
The actress has also denied insulting her breakout song, Kacha Badam, saying the track played an important role in her career.
The controversy has renewed attention on Arora, who previously faced a separate controversy in 2022 when a morphed video falsely presented as her circulated online. Reports at the time said legal action was pursued over the circulation of the content.
The Kanpur dispute centres on competing accounts of the event, with organisers alleging a breach of the performance agreement and Arora pointing to safety concerns. The allegations and legal claims should not be treated as established findings unless confirmed through official proceedings.
