Demand for air purifiers is gaining momentum across India as winter pollution pushes more households to look for ways to improve indoor air quality. Retailers and online platforms are reporting stronger sales, with interest extending beyond Delhi and other traditionally pollution-affected regions.
The Indian air purifier market is witnessing significant growth and is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26% until FY30. Its market value is expected to reach ₹1,000 crore, compared with approximately ₹320 crore in FY25.
Retail sales have also reflected the growing interest. Vijay Sales reported high single-digit year-on-year growth in air purifier sales during the early part of the season. Online demand has strengthened as consumers increasingly turn to air-cleaning devices during periods of poor air quality.
The rise in purchases highlights how seasonal pollution is influencing consumer spending. Air purifiers, once considered a niche household product, are increasingly attracting attention from people concerned about indoor air conditions.
The expected expansion of the market also points to growing awareness of air quality and demand for home-based solutions. However, the extent of future growth will depend on consumer spending, product affordability and how consistently demand continues beyond the winter months.
With pollution remaining a concern in several parts of the country, air purifier manufacturers and retailers are likely to see increased interest during the current season.
