Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has announced plans to acquire Netherlands-based liquid storage operator Evos B.V. in a deal valued at €2.56 billion ($2.88 billion). The acquisition is expected to strengthen the Indian port operator's international presence and expand its operations across Europe.
The company said the transaction would provide it with a significant European foothold as it works towards building a globally diversified transport and logistics platform. The deal will also help Adani Ports expand its liquid storage business and gain exposure to emerging fuel markets, including sustainable aviation fuel and biofuels.
Evos operates eight port-based liquid storage terminals across the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Malta. According to Adani Ports, these facilities are strategically located in important European energy and industrial hubs. Evos is also among Europe's largest independent liquid storage operators.
The acquisition has an equity value of €1.18 billion and will be funded through debt. However, the transaction remains subject to regulatory and other approvals.
Following the announcement, Adani Ports shares declined 1.3% to close at ₹1,884.60 on Thursday.
The acquisition is part of Adani Ports' broader international expansion strategy. The company has been strengthening its global port network and transshipment capabilities, including through operations at Vizhinjam in southern India and Colombo in Sri Lanka.
The proposed Evos deal could further strengthen its position in international energy logistics and liquid storage infrastructure.
