Shares of major sugar stocks rallied on Tuesday as a sharp rise in global sugar prices improved the outlook for domestic sugar producers. Balrampur Chini Mills, EID Parry, Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries, Triveni Engineering and Shree Renuka Sugars were among the stocks that gained during the session.
Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries was the biggest gainer, rising 9% to ₹466.16. Balrampur Chini Mills shares advanced 6.31% to ₹713.60, while Shree Renuka Sugars gained around 5%. EID Parry and Triveni Engineering also moved higher, rising 2.7% and 3%, respectively.
The rally followed a sharp increase in international raw sugar prices, which climbed to an 18-month high. Prices rose about 4% overnight, taking their monthly gain to nearly 11% and their rise in 2026 to around 33%.
The stronger sugar price environment comes ahead of the festive season in India, potentially supporting sentiment around sugar producers. The global supply outlook has also tightened, adding to the positive momentum.
According to estimates cited in the report, the global sugar market could face a deficit of around 900,000 tonnes in the 2026-27 season. Production concerns in major producing regions, including Thailand, the European Union and Brazil, have contributed to expectations of tighter supply.
Thailand’s sugar production is projected to fall, while weaker beet output is expected in the European Union. In Brazil, heavy rainfall has disrupted harvesting and crushing operations.
These supply concerns have pushed global sugar prices higher and strengthened near-term investor sentiment toward sugar-sector stocks.
