Led by frontman Chad Kroeger, the band features guitarist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger and drummer Daniel Adair. The 12-track album follows 2022’s Get Rollin’ and stays close to the sound that has defined Nickelback’s career for more than three decades.

The album opens with “Rattle The Cage,” an energetic rock track featuring a guitar solo by John 5, known for his work with Mötley Crüe. Another major collaboration arrives on “Lift Somebody Up,” which brings together vocalists Sammy Hagar and Brent Smith, along with several prominent musicians. Despite its impressive lineup, the song reportedly lacks some of the edge listeners might expect.

One of the album’s more unusual moments is “Technicolor Steamboat.” Actor Ryan Reynolds appears in the introduction, delivering a playful reference to Gene Wilder’s classic Willy Wonka character before the track moves into a softer, synth-driven sound.

Elsewhere, “I Already Know” offers an instantly catchy melody, while “Make Me Love You” delivers the kind of power ballad familiar to longtime fans. “Chasin’ Famous” revisits the theme of celebrity culture, echoing the satirical spirit of Nickelback’s 2005 hit “Rockstar.”

The album received a rating of three-and-a-half stars out of five. “Rattle The Cage,” “I Already Know” and “Make Me Love You” were highlighted as tracks worth repeating, while “Last Night Was Fun” and “Technicolor Steamboat” were listed as skips.

Overall, Everything Under the Sun sticks to Nickelback’s established formula, offering familiar sounds with a few unexpected collaborations. It may not win over every critic, but longtime fans are likely to find plenty to enjoy.
