Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s Mumbai home combines dramatic architecture with a more personal, lived-in approach to luxury. Spread across around 10,000 square feet, the four-bedroom duplex brings together artwork, sculptural furniture, earthy tones and warm lighting.
One of the most striking elements is the geometric black staircase, which acts as a visual centrepiece and connects the different areas of the duplex. The interiors also feature large artworks, distinctive lighting and carefully selected decorative pieces that give the otherwise neutral spaces more character.
The couple’s design preferences are reflected throughout the home. Mira Rajput has focused on practical and functional details, while Shahid Kapoor has contributed a more experimental approach to some of the interiors. Their choices were brought together with architect Annkur Khosla.
The living areas use neutral shades, wood and soft textures, with greenery and artwork adding colour. The home also includes spaces designed for entertainment and family life, including a home theatre, lounge, guest suite, office area and open-air gym.
Personal touches are an important part of the interiors, from travel finds and family photographs to books, flowers and musical elements such as a grand piano. Large windows and the sea-facing setting add to the sense of openness.
Rather than relying only on expensive finishes, the home combines art, architecture and everyday functionality. The result is a Mumbai residence that reflects both Shahid and Mira’s individual tastes while keeping family life at the centre of its design.
