Director Pa. Ranjith has unveiled the first glimpse of his upcoming Tamil film Vettuvam, offering a closer look at an ambitious sci-fi action drama that moves across three different time periods.

Titled “World of Vettuvam”, the newly released glimpse introduces the film’s expansive setting, conflicts and visual scale. The story appears to combine futuristic elements with traditional martial arts and a power struggle surrounding a grand Indra Vizha.

The film stars VR Dinesh in the lead, with Arya and Sobhita Dhulipala also playing key roles. The project marks an ambitious new direction for Ranjith, blending science fiction with action and elements rooted in traditional culture.

Vettuvam is being positioned as Ranjith’s first pan-India release and is scheduled to reach theatres in December 2026.

The film will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada, expanding its reach beyond Tamil cinema.

With its three-era narrative, genre blend and large-scale world-building, the first glimpse has introduced Vettuvam as one of Ranjith’s most ambitious upcoming projects.
