Richa Chadha has praised Salman Khan for speaking out against online trolling and body-shaming directed at women, particularly criticism of postpartum weight.

During a recent Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman addressed the culture of trolling and questioned the way women are judged for changes in their bodies after childbirth. Although he did not directly name Katrina Kaif, his comments came shortly after the actor faced social media criticism following her appearance at the Ambani family’s Ganpati celebrations.

Richa, who welcomed her first child in 2024, reacted positively to Salman’s remarks during an interview. She said she was initially unaware of his comments but called it a significant gesture to speak against such criticism.

Richa also pointed out that men cannot personally experience pregnancy and childbirth, highlighting the physical and emotional changes women go through during motherhood.

The actor’s comments come amid wider conversations around unrealistic beauty standards and the scrutiny faced by women after pregnancy. Social media criticism of celebrities’ appearances has increasingly sparked discussions about postpartum recovery and the pressure placed on new mothers to quickly return to their pre-pregnancy appearance.

Salman’s comments on Bigg Boss 20 and Richa’s subsequent reaction have brought renewed attention to the issue of postpartum body-shaming in the entertainment industry.
