West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein expressed confidence that his team will push reigning T20 World Champion India hard in the upcoming five‑match series starting Tuesday (October 6) at the Ekana Stadium.
The 33‑year‑old Trinidadian, set to play his 100th T20 International, said the Windies are ready to showcase their fearless brand of cricket. “I back my boys. Even in the World Cup, we gave India a hell of a run. They know the fear we bring to T20 cricket. We know they are dangerous, but we’re not going to back down,” Hosein remarked.
Hosein’s milestone appearance adds extra motivation for the visitors, who are bolstered by the return of key players like Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Romario Shepherd, and Akeal Hosein himself. The Windies believe their aggressive batting and spin depth can test India’s balance and workload management.
For India, fresh off an Asian Games gold medal win, the challenge will be to maintain momentum while managing player fatigue. With explosive talent on both sides, the series promises high‑intensity contests and thrilling cricket for fans.
