In a major move to strengthen collective defence, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye announced the rapid deployment of military forces and capabilities in Saudi Arabia, under the framework of the Mecca Defence Alliance.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting in Riyadh, where defence officials from the three nations agreed to immediately implement commitments made under the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, signed in August. The pact stipulates that an armed attack on one member will be treated as an attack on all, ensuring coordinated deterrence.

According to a joint statement released by Pakistan’s foreign ministry, the deployment will be carried out under “approved arrangements” and in line with the national laws of the three countries. The move comes amid escalating regional tensions and recent missile threats faced by Saudi Arabia, underscoring the urgency of collective military readiness.

Analysts say the rapid deployment reflects growing military cooperation among key Muslim nations and signals a united front against external threats. The alliance is expected to enhance operational coordination, intelligence sharing, and joint exercises, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s security while projecting regional strength.
