Meta’s Muse AI assistant is gaining rapid traction following its September 8 launch, crossing 3.4 million estimated downloads and reaching No. 1 on the US App Store. Sensor Tower data cited by TechCrunch showed Muse retained the top position after reaching it on September 18.

The app’s download estimates vary by tracking firm, with Apptopia estimating 4.3 million installations and Appfigures about 2.3 million. Muse is currently available in the US and Canada.

Analysts are also examining Muse as a potential new revenue stream for Meta. TD Cowen has projected Muse-related headset revenue could rise from about $55 million this year to $1.8 billion in 2027 and $27 billion by 2031, according to the figures cited in the source report.

Meta is expanding Muse’s capabilities with planned features including Mac computer use, video chat, additional connectors and smart-glasses integration.

However, monetisation remains uncertain. Meta generates most of its revenue from advertising, while Muse’s longer-term business model could involve subscriptions, usage fees and commerce-related transactions.
