Jio Platforms is preparing for a major stock market debut, with its initial public offering (IPO) scheduled to open for subscription on October 21 and close on October 23, 2026. The proposed ₹30,200 crore issue includes a dedicated reservation for eligible Reliance Industries (RIL) shareholders and Jio employees.

According to the reported details, ₹3,000 crore has been reserved for these categories. Of this amount, ₹2,500 crore is earmarked for eligible RIL shareholders, while ₹500 crore is allocated to employees. Eligible employees will receive a discount of ₹54 per share, but the shareholder category does not offer a discount.

The IPO price band has been set at ₹1,065–₹1,119 per share, with a lot size of 12 shares. Investors considering an application should review the final offer documents for category-specific bidding limits and other conditions.

To qualify under the shareholder reservation, investors must have held at least one Reliance Industries share in their demat account by the specified eligibility cut-off date of October 14, 2026, according to the report. Because of India's T+1 settlement cycle, October 13 was identified as the last day to purchase RIL shares for this purpose. Buying shares on October 14 or later would not establish eligibility under this category.

The report also states that the shareholder category is available to eligible individuals and Hindu undivided families (HUFs). Shares of Jio Financial Services do not count towards eligibility; the qualifying holding must be in Reliance Industries.

Investors should verify the cut-off date, eligibility conditions, application limits and allotment rules in the official red herring prospectus before applying. Eligibility does not guarantee allotment, and purchasing RIL shares solely to access an IPO reservation carries market risk.
