The second season of Rise And Fall has witnessed a major controversy after a physical altercation between contestants Shehzad Poonawalla and Siwet Tomar. Siwet was subsequently evicted from the reality show following a review of the incident.
After clips of the confrontation circulated on social media, Shehzad Poonawalla's team issued a statement thanking supporters and addressing the controversy. Without naming Siwet, the statement said Shehzad had faced verbal abuse and provocation but continued to maintain his composure before the confrontation.
The statement also highlighted Shehzad's personal circumstances and said he had entered the show to participate, work and earn his livelihood. His team further said that attempts to silence or push him down would not defeat his spirit, adding that he would “rise again.”
Siwet Tomar has also given his account of the incident. In a video shared on Instagram, he disputed claims that he attacked Shehzad from behind. Siwet said he held Shehzad by the collar during the confrontation and claimed there had been continued provocation before the incident.
The altercation reportedly occurred during the Ultimate Ruler task, following a discussion that also involved actor Swara Bhasker. Shehzad's shirt was torn during the tussle.
Following a review, the show's makers decided to remove Siwet Tomar from Rise And Fall 2.
