Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal turned showstoppers at designer Manish Malhotra’s Mijwan showcase in Mumbai. The actors, who will also share the screen in Love And War, later shared pictures and messages from the event on social media.
Alia celebrated 15 years of Mijwan and acknowledged the work of Shabana Azmi and Manish Malhotra in providing artisans with a platform to showcase their craft. She also thanked the team for including her in the event and had a special message for Vicky, writing, “Always fun when you're around.”
For the occasion, Alia wore a custom ivory chikankari saree from Manish Malhotra. The saree featured intricate chikankari embroidery, sequins, silver embellishments and scalloped borders. She paired it with a contemporary blouse and a matching veil, creating a contrast between traditional detailing and a modern silhouette.
Vicky also shared his thoughts about the event, describing the Mijwan journey as one that represents more than fashion. He highlighted its 15-year journey and the opportunities created for girls and artisans through the initiative.
Vicky said walking the runway alongside Alia made the experience “even more special.” He wore a midnight-blue and ivory sherwani ensemble from the Mijwan collection, featuring a white kurta, flared trousers and a chikankari-and-sequin embellished bandhgala jacket.
Alia and Vicky will next be seen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor.
