President Droupadi Murmu expressed confidence that India could achieve the status of a developed nation even before 2047, driven by the efforts of its youth.

Speaking at the 75th convocation of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, she emphasised that education becomes truly meaningful when applied for the nation’s progress and social welfare. Murmu highlighted the rapid technological transformation across fields and said a multidisciplinary approach is key to solving modern challenges.

She also praised the growing participation of women in education and various sectors, calling it a positive sign for India’s future. During the ceremony, the President conferred degrees on 12,600 students and awarded 201 gold medals to 160 achievers.

On her two‑day visit to Gujarat, Murmu will inaugurate the Brahma Kumaris’ Global Spiritual Palace Retreat Centre in Vadodara and launch initiatives including “Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal” and the “Youth for Viksit Bharat” campaign, aimed at strengthening inner resilience for nation‑building.

Her message reinforced the idea that India’s path to development lies in the energy, innovation, and commitment of its young citizens.
