India’s rapid data centre expansion is creating demand well beyond digital infrastructure. Power generation, renewable energy and transmission equipment are also becoming critical as facilities require reliable electricity around the clock.

According to estimates cited by the Ministry of Power, electricity demand from India’s data centre sector could rise from around 1 GW in December 2025 to 13.6 GW by FY32—a more than 13-fold increase.

This growth is creating opportunities across the power ecosystem. Renewable energy companies can benefit from rising demand for clean electricity, while cable and electrical infrastructure manufacturers could see higher demand as new facilities connect to the grid.

CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions is one company operating on the renewable power side. Its portfolio stands at 6,831 MW, including 4,174 MW already built and 2,657 MW under construction. Data centres and AI account for 1,852 MW of its contracted renewable power sales capacity.

The company’s contracted capacity in the data centre and AI segment increased nearly 10-fold between March 2024 and March 2026. It has agreements with major technology companies and data centre operators.

CleanMax reported Q1 FY27 revenue of ₹832.3 crore, up 107% year-on-year, while EBITDA rose 68% to ₹494 crore. Net profit stood at ₹55.2 crore, compared with a loss in the year-earlier quarter.

The broader opportunity extends to cable and electrical infrastructure companies, which are expected to support the additional transmission and distribution capacity required by India’s expanding data centre network.
