IIT Ropar Director Prof. Rajeev Ahuja has been awarded the National Systems Gold Medal by the Systems Society of India (SSI) for his contributions to Systems Science and Engineering.
The award was presented during the 49th (Inter) National Systems Conference, held at Dayalbagh Educational Institute in Agra from September 21 to 23. The conference focused on the theme, “Integrated Intelligent Systems for People and Planet.”
The National Systems Gold Medal recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to different areas of Systems Science and Engineering.
According to information shared by IIT Ropar, Ahuja joins a group of prominent scientists who have previously received the honour. Former President and scientist APJ Abdul Kalam received the medal in 1997, while former ISRO chairman K. Sivan was awarded it in 2018.
The recognition comes as IIT Ropar continues to expand its academic and research activities across engineering and technology. Ahuja has been serving as the institute's director and has been involved in academic and research initiatives in the technology sector.
The Systems Society of India brings together researchers and professionals working across systems science, engineering and related interdisciplinary areas.
The award ceremony formed part of the national systems conference, which brought researchers and academic professionals together to discuss the development of integrated and intelligent systems aimed at addressing challenges affecting people and the environment.
The recognition highlights Ahuja's contribution to the field and adds another academic distinction to IIT Ropar's leadership.
