The report found that 56% of organisations plan to increase hiring of CA and CS professionals, while 33% expect hiring levels to remain unchanged. Only 11% of organisations surveyed plan to reduce hiring in this category.

CA and CS professionals recorded the highest net hiring intent among the talent segments tracked in the report, at +45 percentage points. Interns followed at +20 points, while non-engineers recorded +7 points and diploma holders +5 points.

The report also highlights the established role of internships in CA and CS recruitment. Around 91% of organisations hire CA-CS interns, compared with 94% for BTech and MTech candidates and 93% for MBA candidates.

Intern-to-full-time conversion is also significant. About 82% of organisations extend pre-placement interviews or offers to CA and CS interns. The corresponding figures were 85% for MBA interns, 83% for BA, BCom and BSc graduates, and 81% for BTech and MTech candidates.

Hiring plans for other categories were more mixed. Engineers recorded a net hiring intent of -4 points, while MBA hiring stood at -10 points.

On the supply side, ICAI data shows CA Final registrations have declined from 132,007 in May 2017 to 99,466 in May 2025. Registrations for the September 2025 attempt stood at 81,852.

The findings indicate continued demand for accounting, compliance and corporate governance talent even as hiring plans vary across other graduate categories.
