India’s wait for a shooting gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 continued as Elavenil Valarivan and Parth Mane faltered under pressure in the 10m Air Rifle mixed team finals.

The duo had raised hopes after finishing second behind China in the qualifying round, but in the high‑stakes final, they slipped to fourth place, narrowly missing out on a podium finish.

Elavenil, who had earlier won two silver medals in the women’s 10m Air Rifle events, was expected to carry her strong form into the mixed team competition. However, the finals proved unforgiving, with both shooters unable to replicate their qualifying consistency.
