The world's largest payments processor announced adjusted earnings of $3.48 per share for the three months ended September 30, 2026. This exceeded analysts' expectations of $3.44 per share, according to estimates compiled by LSEG.

Visa's net revenue increased 13% year-on-year to $12.1 billion during the quarter. For the full 2026 financial year, the company recorded a record $46 billion in net revenue.

The company's payment network also recorded steady activity. Payments volume rose 9% on a constant-dollar basis, while processed transactions increased 10%. Visa finance chief Chris Suh said spending patterns remained broadly consistent across consumer groups, with no clear signs of weakening among lower-spending customers.

International payments were another source of growth. Cross-border transaction volumes, excluding transactions within Europe, climbed 14% as demand for travel and online shopping remained strong. The FIFA World Cup, held in the United States and other host locations across June and July 2026, also contributed to activity across Visa's network.

However, higher client incentives remain an area to watch. These payments to clients and business partners rose 21% to $5.1 billion during the quarter, partly reflecting new agreements. Visa expects incentive spending to increase further in fiscal 2027 as it renews contracts with major clients.

For fiscal 2027, Visa expects net revenue growth in the low double digits and earnings-per-share growth ranging from the low double digits to the low teens. Its shares fell around 1.4% in extended trading following the results.

The latest figures suggest that consumer spending continues to support Visa's business. Investors will now watch whether the company can maintain revenue growth while managing rising client incentives and continuing to invest in its payments network.
