Jeong Yein has officially joined the cast of Netflix’s medical drama The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call. The Lovelyz member and actress will take over the role of nurse Cheon Jang-mi, previously played by Ha Young, for the upcoming second and third seasons.
The casting confirmation followed earlier reports that Jeong Yein had been selected for the role. Her agency had initially denied the reports, but Netflix later confirmed on September 29 that the actress had been chosen as Ha Young’s successor. Jeong Yein and other key cast members are also set to participate in the new seasons’ script reading.
Why Ha Young Left The Trauma Code
Ha Young portrayed nurse Cheon Jang-mi in the first season but stepped down from the series following allegations concerning her great-grandfather’s alleged activities. Following her departure, the production team reportedly conducted auditions to find an actress to take over the character.
Jeong Yein debuted as a member of Lovelyz in 2014 before expanding her career into acting. Her earlier acting work includes the web drama The Blue Sea, Criminal Minds, and the 2023 series Na Ra the Socialite Wannabe. She has also appeared in theatrical productions.
With Jeong Yein now joining the cast, fans are awaiting further details about the upcoming seasons of The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call.
